The Middle East is an area where cars and truck is king and fuel is inexpensive, frequently leaving little reward to discover more environmentally-friendly methods of walking around.

But this year, as protests throughout the Middle East have risen the cost of oil, the concern of discovering alternative sources of fuel has entered sharp focus.

In a region that has among the greatest carbon footprints worldwide, one business is making the most of the growing pressure to discover options to oil. It's established the Middle East's first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving lucrative too, currently their client-list contains McDonald's.
